DOCENT  Please contacr Kallene West        Kallene.M.West@mwarep.org

Job description:

1) This is voluntary and you can sign up for 1 to 4 nights.
2) Lead a group of people along a predetermined rout. There will be 10 stops when actors will tell a story. The tour will take about 1 1/2 hours.
3) I’m looking for volunteers to be docents for the 2015 Ghost Walk. As a docent you lead a group of people, along the Ghost Walk route, to the 10 different stories. You can volunteer for one night or as many nights as you would like. Each tour generally lasts about an hour and 45 minutes.

The  Historical Ghost Walk is looking for actors/actresses/storytellers that would be good, reliable
and interested in doing the Ghost Walk. This is an all volunteer effort. There are no monies available to
pay storytellers.

The format will be walking tours through the River Walk and Historic Union Avenue District with
the first tour starting at 5:30 P.M. from El Pueblo History Museum - depending on attendance, tours leave
every 10 to 20 minutes with the last tour leaving El Pueblo at approximately 8:30. There are 10 stories
stationed along the route. Each storyteller remains at their station along the route and keeps retelling
the story as each tour comes by their station. That means depending on where you are positioned
along the route, that you will be in position and telling stories from 5:30 to roughly 8:45 if you are at the
beginning of the route, or 6:30 to roughly 10:15 if you are positioned at the end of the route.

This event is held outdoors - rain or shine, hot or cold. If there is bad weather before the actual start
of the walking tours, the event is brought indoors but if bad weather strikes during the event, the event
continues outdoors.

If you are available for some dates but not all dates, I still would be interested in talking to you
about participating.

Each story is roughly 5 minutes in length. I do have the stories in script format. There are several
meetings for read thru’s and to discuss costumes etc.- this event does not require a rehearsal schedule.
We ask storytellers to self costume if possible but we do have access to a couple of theatre groups’

This is a fund raiser for the Pueblo Domestic Violence Community Task Force and the YWCA. This will be
our 8th year. We do have a web page at www.puebloghostwalk.com.

If you are interested in being a storyteller or is you need any further information to help you make your
decision on whether or not to participate as a storyteller please contact me.
